What?

Based on the science of Social behaviour, the technique empowers actors to courageously perform deep, honest and truthful work.

Who?

The Masterclass is open for 16 actors who will work on stage, directed by Ivana. You are welcome to join as an auditor if you are an actor, a screenwriter, a director or are interested in acting technique.

You must be at least 18 years old to attend the workshop, both as a participant or active auditor
How?

The Masterclass will be held in English with simultaneous interpretation towards French. If you wish to participate as an actor and do not speak English, you will be able to act in French or in your native tongue.
Prerequisites?

It is obligatory for actors on stage (and highly recommended for auditors) to carefully study the book "The Power of the Actor“ (english version, french version), to get familiar with the 12 step Chubbuck Technique. The steps will become more clear on how to practically use it so as to establish a more successful result in the real world.
How much?

The rate for the Master class is 195€ for auditors and 695€ for participants.

Train and professionalize your acting skills by working on stage with the world-renowned premier acting coach Ivana Chubbuck.

You have to apply to be a participant and Ivana will handpick who will join. It is expected that participants have a good understanding of the Chubbuck technique and Ivana’s book, ‘The Power of The Actor’. The selected participants will work on the floor in pairs on a scene picked by Ivana, which they have to prepare beforehand, in accordance with the 12-step technique explained in her book. Additionally, participants will need to rehearse with their scene partner a minimum of 6 to 8 hours before the Masterclass, and also 3 to 4 hours before the second day.

Price to participate: 695€
Deadline to apply: February the 10th 2024
Deadline for payment: 7 days after being accepted
Actors chosen to participate will be notified at the latest by March 4th 2024.

Train and professionalize your acting skills by interactively listening, watching and doing exercises alongside the participants.

The Chubbuck's Workshop is a life changing experience for the actors on stage, as well as the auditors in the room. The 2 day event, includes several transformative and interactive exercises, which everyone in the audience will actively participate in. As an example, the room will engage in exercises, which enable each individual to, easily and deeply, open up one’s emotional ressources, activating your ability to get to your true emotions, in a simple, profound and effective way. Everyone will also learn and experience how to create chemistry, through the “Chemistry Exercise”, individually and as a group, how to play a killer, how to create a character that takes the victim out of being a victim, how to organically feel the effects of drugs and alcohol, how to feel organic fear, how to deal with dying from the perspective of the dying and the loved one who is experiencing the death, and so much more interactive exercises that include everyone, participants and auditors alike.

Each scene in the workshop will be carefully selected so that the actors can face key aspects of what it takes to deliver great and lasting performances.

Each and every one in the audience will face the same challenges, figuring them out alongside the actors on stage. Asking yourself questions such as “what would I use?” “what choice would I make here?”.

The 2 day event is an interactive, eye opening experience and through watching, listening and participating, it will become more clear on how to use The 12 step, Chubbuck'sTechnique. It will provide you with effective and practical tools and will facilitate your ability to apply them successfully, with effective results in the real world.
